A better water filter is here

  1. LifeStraw Home removes 30+ contaminants including bacteria, microplastics, and PFAS—all in a sleek, award-winning modern design.

How did we get our start?

  1. It all began with a simple idea: a mesh filter designed as a straw to fight guinea worm disease. In 1994, LifeStraw partnered with The Carter Center to design a simple mesh filter to remove Guinea worm larvae from drinking water. Since then we have designed water filtration for outdoors and home.

What makes our products unique?

  1. Every LifeStraw product removes bacteria, parasites, and microplastics.

Why do we love what we do?

  1. We have humanitarian roots and believe that impact matters. To us, it’s not just water filters, its ensuring equitable access to safe water for all

    It’s got good reviews

Got it for my emergency bag so haven’t used it yet but it’s got good reviews so I hope it works seems well made so I feel pretty confident it will keep me from dying it dehydration or some parasite that’s in whatever nasty water I’d have to drink … Can’t be prepared for everything but doesn’t hurt to try.

    Should do the trick

I bought this as a last resort in my gear. They are made nicely and in good packaging, and know literature about them seems good. I put them in my gear and have forgotten about them until I cannot boil water or my main filter breaks, emergency use only.

    Works and No Side Eeffects

Took a quick trip to Wisconsin and went through the trials, and I took a straw and placed in one of the river streams and ponds, drank it. Did not feel any side effects like microfibrils and it cleaned out the water. Again, do your research, but great for need for water especially if you are in hot or extreme climates and need any water source. did what it was to do.

    Why wouldn’t you have one?

I have not used it, but have bought several to have on hand.To me this is a no brainer, safe drinking water is the #1 priority in an emergency/survival situation. The track record of the water straw speaks for itself! My daughter asked me for one of the ones I had for emergencies. She had to do a presentation on a product for her college class and chose the Life Straw. She did a whole write up on it in addition to taking it to creek and drinking from it.I highly recommend having at least one handy, as you never know what the future might bring.

Use it correctly or the water will get stuck

Bought one of these a long time ago and have consistently used it on several backpacking and camping trips. So far I haven’t gotten sick so I guess it works. I will say though you have to follow the instructions and use it properly. I find it easiest to use first suck up water until it barely flows into your mouth then blow into the straw until all the water comes out of the straw. Then put the straw back into the creek and it’ll start flowing much easier and you’ll be able to drink as much water as you want. It took me a few attempts to figure this out but I’m glad I did.

    LifeStraw says it all…

Bought this to travel but had access to bottled water. Will use this for wilderness travel when water is not fresh or available. It’s a bit bulky and clunky to use as a straw but if its filter protects against unwanted elements in the water I’m okay with that. It has it’s purpose so I’m happy with that.

    Good Product Idea

Nice that it’s portable and can filter out all kinds of things. Difficult to get the flow going. Took to Mexico for drinking water as I always get sick there but I found it too challenging to use every time I needed to drink water. Best use is probably camping.

    Drink Freely

Literally fulfilled Psalm 110:7 with this lifestraw on 11 December 2023 when I hiked up snowy, icy Mt. Zion in Golden, CO. I used this straw to drink from the cold Brook in three locations along the mountain side. It works well! The water tasted great. It was cold and refreshing; and thus Adonai (The Lord) lifted His head! It happened. Other people’s doubts and disbelief neither quantifies nor qualifies my faith and belief. Nor do they invalidate my own personal life experiences. It is what it is.

    Valuable, potentially life saving tool

Look, are these the absolute answer to all things water filtering and purification? No. However, these are excellent tools you can and probably should have with you, and have multiple backups. When it comes to survival, water is your #1 need outside of anything immediately affecting you. If you don’t have clean, pure drinking water, you don’t make it. That’s enough said about that. Now, are there other tools you need to have as well? Sure, but you don’t need to wait to get these. This is not only quick and convenient, but it can be stored and carried in so many ways and add virtually no weight to your kit. This little filter could save you and your loved ones’ lives one day. Get a bunch of them and store some of them in various places like your backpack(s), vehicle(s), around the house, etc. They are so cheap it doesn’t make sense not to at least have a few for the sake of emergency.

    Lake Superior

We hike sections of North Country Trail in Michigan’s upper peninsula. I haven’t been brave enough to drink out of a puddle, but mainly use the Life Straw to drink water from Lake Superior. Directions say to submerge in water for 10 seconds and then take 5 quick sips. I have never had an issue of not being able to get enough to drink. The water tastes pure and clean. The next direction is to blow through the filter to clear it out (?) I am unable to blow anything back the other way. I simply shake all the remaining water out of the straw, let it air dry and pack it back up. Works perfectly every time.

    Backpacking must have!

My husband ordered this for a backpacking trip. He wasn’t planning on using it, but got it just in case. By the third day of backpacking, him and 4 other guys were taking turns drinking out of this straw in dirty puddles on their way back. They were so grateful for having this as a backup water source! They said that it didn’t taste like much of anything, so the water purification must be pretty amazing. I hope I never have to use one of these myself, but I am glad it was useful for them!

Nice To Have & Not Need Then Need & Not Have

We saw these on a Bob Wells CheapRVLiving video and Survivorman episode and thought they were a great idea. We tent camp and at times have power outages so we try to carry at least one in our vehicles and home Just In Case. Bad storms, hurricanes and tornadoes can really mess up things so we have something to rely on Just In Case.
